Well, I`ve always been a person who follows my heart. The future is soo uncertain so does the numbers on my credit card statements. My new year resolution this year was to clear all my credit card debt and live on cash. Right in the middle of June, which means half of the year passed already, and I started to decide on forgetting that already haha… I bought a D90!

Every other people use Canon in this universe but I don`t know why I choosed the dark side. Maybe because it`s sexy. D90 is my second DSLR. I had D70 before and I got bored. I really wanted to get rid of it I didn`t mind trading it with a brand new Lumix F8 -_- Ugh…if I can time travel, I`ll go find myself and punch me in my face for deciding a stupid thing like that! LOL

Some of the excuses helping me decide on buying this camera (and increasing my debt) was:

1. I am one of the affiliated blogger for Daicon and Miss Chihara Minori will come to Malaysia. What if the organizer let people take her pictures during the press conference and concert. Am I gonna shoot it with my compact camera? Well, there`s nothing wrong with point and shoot, only it`s easier to fux up pictures during convention using compact camera haha…

2. I just found out my colleague also got DSLR and he just bought a prime lens >< Just can`t help but being poisoned.

3. I am on my way to a second phase interview for a new job. If the interview succeeds, it means more salary to compensate the current debt! Plus the new job might need me to travel occasionally and it will lead to opportunities for photo chances.

So here is the sexy camera.

Paired with Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D prime lens, the only lens I got now because I refused to get the kit lens.

My first shot using the new baby. Aperture priority mode, 1/25 f1.4 ISO 200. And this was the person who is responsible making me poisoned lol.The creamy bokeh is what the f/1.4D do best!

Next thing I know, I was experimenting with everything I have in my room lol.

I shoot everything in RAW and use Adobe Lightroom 2.0 for post processing. I also found out that using plugin we can watermark and upload processed photos directly to flickr on Lightroom. Below was my first successful picture uploaded using the plugin. Note that instead of the usual text layout, my blog logo is in there looking very sexy also LOL

I was quite impressed on how easy it is to take pictures with D90 compared to what I have experienced in the past with my previous D70. Despite having a very good lens for my first and only lens for now, the fixed focal will give me some restrictions on zooming and need to figure out lots of things in alternative way. I think it`s more fun like that as I don`t fancy much correct and beautiful picture and more prefer to have a unique ones instead. To tell you the truth, another reason I choose a prime fast lens is because I kinda lazy to move around with batt grips, flashes and big lens, and with a lens that can make out decent output in low light without flash, it will do the job as for me probably I will take a lot of cosplayers pictures and also figure pictures. So this simple gear setup is my choice for now. Being said that, even if I do want batt grips and flash and big lenses, I don`t have the money!!!…Dark side huh?
